How I can help
I’m Dr Victoria Horwood, a Clinical Psychologist based in Nottingham, offering psychological therapy for adults and young people.
I specialise in trauma, EMDR and difficulties that can leave people feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally stuck or disconnected from themselves and others.
You may be looking for support with trauma, anxiety, difficult relationships, low self-worth, emotional regulation, burnout, or experiences from the past that continue to affect how you feel in the present.
My approach is warm, compassionate and evidence-based. I draw on a range of psychological therapies and tailor treatment to you, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
I am particularly interested in helping people understand and process difficult experiences, emotions and beliefs that may be keeping them stuck. Therapy can help reduce the emotional impact of the past, make sense of patterns that have developed, and support healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.
The aim is not simply to help you cope better, but to support meaningful and lasting change so that you can feel more confident, connected and able to live in a way that feels right for you.
I also provide psychological therapy for children and teenagers, alongside psychological consultation and professional input for organisations.
